Reunited: How Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren's meeting was reported in the Daily Mail today

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have been seen together for the first time since his multiple affairs became public knowledge.

The couple were photographed walking near their home in Windermere, Florida, following reports that Woods has moved back in with his wife.

It came as the shamed golfer announced he is to return to golf after a four month break caused by a sex scandal that linked him to a dozen mistress.

The world's top player will resume his sporting career at the Master's next month.

While Woods announced his return to the sport he admitted his personal life and the threat of divorce is still far from over.

He said: 'I have undergone almost two months of in-patient therapy and I am continuing my treatment.

'Although I'm returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life.'

Ms Nordegren, 30, is said to have put on hold plans to divorce her errant husband and help him re-build his shattered life.

The golfer was linked to at least 12 women following a late night car crash outside his £1.7million home in the exclusive Isleworth estate near Orlando, Florida last November.

He was said to have had affairs with two porn stars, a local restaurant waitress and a nightclub hostess.

Last month the world's richest sportsman issued a public apology to his wife in a televised press conference where he admitted to being treated for sex addiction.

Woods's tearful apology in which he said he was 'selfish and foolish' was seen as major step to any reconciliation with his wife.

He did talk about his return to golf, but after completing his sex addiction treatment at a clinic in Arizona was seen practising with his swing coach.

The return to the Masters, the most prestigious event in the US golfing calendar, will come as a huge relief to the sport and the PGA Tour.

Woods is by far the biggest attraction for sponsors and TV advertisers.

His return to the tournament which starts on April 8 at Augusta, Georgia, is likely to attract massive media coverage.

It will also provide Woods with a safe environment to plot his comeback as access is strictly limited.

Woods said he chose the tournament for his comeback as it was the scene of his first major tournament victory.

He said: 'The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect.

'After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta.

Woods last played in a tournament on November 15 when he won the Australian Open.

Less than two weeks later he was involved in a mysterious car crash outside his Florida home following publication of details of his affair with nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel.

After being linked to a dozen women and Woods announced he was taking a break from golf to try and repair his marriage as his wife consulted divorce lawyers.

The Swedish-born former model moved out of the family home into rented accommodation while Woods sought treatment for sex addiction.

The golfer, who lost four major sponsors as a result of his affairs, was reported to have had been reconciled with his wife last week.

U.S. media said that he had been allowed to move back into the family home with Ms Nordegren and their two young children.
